Estonian Drama Theatre will allow customers to buy up to four tickets for each performance, revising a stricter limit announced a day earlier, ERR reported Friday.

The theatre said many audience members had contacted it, prompting the change. It said the four-ticket limit was intended to give more people a good chance of buying tickets without unduly restricting visits by families and groups of friends.

Ticket sales for the theatre’s January and February performances will begin at 10 a.m. on November 2, simultaneously at the box office, on the theatre’s website and through Piletimaailm. The theatre had initially planned to limit purchases to two tickets per performance, down from eight, a move that drew criticism from families with children on social media.

The theatre is also suspending group bookings for popular productions because of high demand. Marketing manager Katre Väli said queues for group orders for the most popular shows had reached four to six years, with thousands of people waiting. Group bookings are generally paused when fulfilling orders is expected to take more than two seasons, she said. Väli could not say when bookings would reopen.

Group orders started at 20 tickets and could cover up to 50.
