Latvia will switch to winter time at 4am on Sunday, October 25, turning clocks back one hour, the Ministry of Economics said, according to LSM.
Although the European Union has discussed ending seasonal clock changes, no common decision has been made. Several member states say a full impact assessment is needed, including analysis of economic costs and effects on society and health. Latvia therefore continues to follow the existing schedule.
Under government rules adopted in 2010, clocks move forward by one hour at 3am on the last Sunday in March and back by one hour at 4am on the last Sunday in October. Latvia first introduced summer time in 1981. The next change to summer time is scheduled for March 28, 2027, when clocks will move forward at 3am.
