Lithuanian troops and NATO allies begin exercises in 10 municipalities

Lithuanian troops and NATO allies began the Budri Pelėda exercises on Saturday in 10 municipalities, LRT reported, citing the Lithuanian military.

The exercises are taking place in the districts of Jurbarkas, Lazdijai, Šakiai, Šalčininkai, Šilutė, Švenčionys, Varėna and Vilkaviškis, as well as the municipalities of Druskininkai and Pagėgiai.

Troops will use standard equipment, weapons and wheeled vehicles. Pyrotechnics and simulated ammunition will not be used.

The military said use of private land and buildings would be arranged with their owners under procedures set by the commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The exercises will run until December 4.
