Dry weather to give way to rain in Lithuania on Friday

Thursday will bring dry, autumnally warm weather to Lithuania, but rain is expected on Friday, according to forecaster Tadas Kantautas of the Hydrometeorological Service, speaking to LRT Radio.

Thursday will be cloudy with sunny intervals and no rain. Temperatures will reach 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. Strong south-easterly winds are forecast, with gusts of 15 to 17 metres per second possible in western Lithuania.

Cloudy skies and rain are expected in many places overnight into Friday, with the heaviest rainfall in the south and west. Overnight temperatures will be 7 to 12 degrees, and winds will ease.

Rain will continue during the first half of Friday, then clear from the south-west. By late afternoon or evening, many places will see sunshine. Daytime temperatures will reach 10 to 14 degrees, with moderate winds.

Saturday will be partly cloudy, with no rain during the day and lighter southerly to south-easterly winds. Overnight temperatures will be 3 to 8 degrees, with ground frost possible in some places. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 11 to 15 degrees.
