Nausėda to meet Montenegro’s president in Vilnius

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović will make an official visit to Lithuania on Thursday and meet President Gitanas Nausėda in Vilnius, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reported.

The presidents will discuss Montenegro’s integration into the European Union, bilateral cooperation, priorities for Lithuania’s upcoming presidency of the EU Council, European security and defence, and support for Ukraine.

They are due to hold a joint news conference before noon.

LRT noted that Montenegro and Albania are among the leading candidates to become the first countries to join the EU since Croatia entered the bloc in 2013.
