Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said Russia is not prepared to wage a full-scale war against NATO in the next two years, but could test the alliance’s unity with hybrid attacks, including possible interventions at the border, LRT reported.
“Hybrid operations may target not only places identified earlier, such as critical energy infrastructure. We are also seeing signs of possible provocations of various kinds at the borders,” Nausėda told reporters on Thursday after a meeting of the State Defence Council.
“An operation of this kind was carried out in Latvia. Border interventions cannot be ruled out, and we are preparing accordingly,” he said.
