Estonia faces frost risk before warmer, wetter weather arrives
Estonia Tuesday will be dry in Estonia, but temperatures near the ground may fall close to zero overnight before warmer and more humid air arrives, ERR reports.
The coming night will be mostly clear or partly cloudy, with no precipitation. Fog will develop in places. Winds will be variable at 1 to 6 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 3 to 9 degrees Celsius, reaching 13 degrees on the coast, while ground frost is possible.
Tuesday morning will remain mostly clear or partly cloudy and dry, although fog may persist in places. Temperatures will be 5 to 11 degrees, reaching 13 degrees on the coast.
Tuesday will bring limited and variable cloud cover and will be mostly dry. Fog may linger in places before midday. Winds will be light and variable, turning southerly on the islands and reaching 3 to 9 metres per second. Temperatures will rise to 15 to 19 degrees.
A dry high-pressure ridge will move slowly eastward from the Baltic Sea across the Baltic states on Tuesday. Overnight, temperatures in Estonia will fall close to zero near the ground. A low-pressure system approaching from Scandinavia will turn the wind southward during the day, with clouds arriving from the sea by evening, but no precipitation is expected.
On Wednesday, the high-pressure ridge will retreat and Estonia will lie on the edge of a low-pressure system moving east from northern Scandinavia. Moist air will arrive across the sea. The night and morning will bring isolated showers, while heavier rain will reach the islands in the evening and spread to the mainland. Temperatures will be 6 to 12 degrees overnight, up to 15 degrees on the coast, and 16 to 19 degrees during the day.
Rain will move eastward across western Estonia on Thursday night, followed by drier weather from the islands during the day. Temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees overnight and 15 to 18 degrees during the day. Friday will be mostly dry overnight, but more rain clouds will cross western and northern Estonia during the day. Saturday will be rainy, with moderate temperatures.
