Latvians donate 138,995 euros to support Ukrainian soldiers

Latvian residents donated 138,995 euros to support Ukrainian soldiers in a campaign organised by Latvia’s Public Media and Ziedot.lv, LSM reported.

The “Together with Ukraine in thoughts and deeds” campaign ran from August 17 to September 13 to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day. The funds will provide comprehensive rehabilitation for Ukrainian soldiers recovering from physical and psychological trauma caused by the war.

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated,” said Odita Krenberga, a Latvian Public Media journalist and ambassador for the campaign. She said the donations demonstrated that Ukraine’s defenders were not alone and that people in Latvia supported them not only in thought, but through practical assistance.

The money will help provide medical care, psychological support, recovery assistance, and support for returning to independent life and reintegrating into society.

Since the start of the war, LSM and Ziedot.lv have collected more than 2 million euros to support assistance for Ukraine.
