Cēsis opens county’s first circular reuse centre

Cēsu County’s first circular reuse centre opened in Cēsis on Thursday, October 29, LSM reported. The centre, called Lapsu19, lets residents pass on usable items so they can find new owners instead of becoming waste.

Residents can drop off items they no longer need and take things they can use, for example when moving, furnishing a home, preparing for celebrations or looking for materials for creative projects. The municipality says the centre also offers a way to reuse items rather than buy new ones.

Lapsu19 is located at the ZAAO EKO yard at 19 Lapsu Street. Only clean, intact items that are fit for use may be left there. Broken or damaged goods, electrical appliances and household equipment, medicines, cosmetics and hygiene products are not accepted, nor are items outside the centre’s specified categories.
