Valys discharged from hospital, on sick leave through Friday

Finance Minister Taurimas Valys was discharged from Santaros Clinics hospital on Wednesday and is on sick leave through Friday, LRT reported, citing the BNS news agency.

His condition is stable, and he was admitted because of problems related to his heart, his communications adviser Jolanta Butkevičienė told BNS. Valys will follow doctors’ recommendations and could return to work on Friday if he feels well, she said.

Valys felt unwell at work on Monday morning and contacted his family doctor. When his condition worsened, he went to Santaros Clinics, where he was treated in the cardiology department. Transport Minister Juras Taminskas is filling in for him.
