Experts debate transport priorities before Latvian election

Experts discussed the biggest challenges facing Latvia’s transport sector and possible solutions in a pre-election edition of Latvijas Radio’s “Krustpunktā” programme, LSM reported.

The discussion focused on what the next Saeima should do in the transport sector. Participants were Bank of Latvia economist Jānis Mauris, doctor of economics Armands Vēveris, Luminor economist Pēteris Strautiņš and Raitis Logins, managing partner of Grant Thornton Baltic in Latvia.

Latvia’s 15th Saeima elections will be held on Saturday, October 3. Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters will be able to cast their ballots at any polling station.

Early voting will be available at all polling stations in Latvia from September 28 until election day. The newly elected 15th Saeima will hold its first sitting on November 3, when the 14th Saeima’s term will end.
