Atmospheric front to bring rain across Lithuania on Sunday
An atmospheric front will move across Lithuania on Sunday, bringing extensive cloud cover and rain to most districts, LRT Radio reported, citing forecaster Paulius Starkus of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.
Temperatures will range from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius across most of the country, rising to 21 degrees in eastern districts.
Eastern Lithuania will receive less rain, while other districts are expected to see more. Very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon.
Southwesterly and westerly winds will prevail. Gusts of up to 15 to 18 metres per second are expected on the coast and in western Lithuania.
Monday will be slightly cooler. Rain will fall across the country overnight, at times heavily, with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Gusts of 15 to 17 metres per second are expected on the coast, while overnight temperatures will remain between 9 and 14 degrees.
More sunny intervals are expected during the day, with brief showers. Winds will turn northerly and westerly. Temperatures will reach 14 to 16 degrees, rising to 18 degrees in southern Lithuania.
