Smoke report prompts inspection of municipal archive in Šilalė

LRT reported that firefighters responded to a fire report at a municipal building in Šilalė on Thursday, but found no signs of burning inside.

The General Assistance Centre said it received the report at 2 p.m. from the building on Šoliai Street. Fire and rescue crews from the Klaipėda Fire Rescue Board’s Šilalė and Šilalė district units were sent to the scene.

Edita Zdanevičienė, chief specialist at the Fire and Rescue Department’s Communications Division, told ELTA that an archive operates at the address. Firefighters were told there was smoke in the building. They inspected the premises, found no signs of burning and ventilated the rooms. Firefighters remained at the scene on standby.
