ERR, Kristo Enn Vaga, Reform Party

Kristo Enn Vaga, secretary general of Estonia’s Reform Party, fell ill during ERR’s live broadcast of the “Esimene stuudio” debate on defence spending on Wednesday evening and was taken by ambulance to an emergency department for further examinations, ERR reported.

The health incident occurred about 15 minutes into the programme.

“Dear viewers, just to inform you that we have a health incident on air. Hopefully everything is fine, but we will try to continue the programme,” presenter Andres Kuusk said.

Peep Kala, editor-in-chief of ETV’s current affairs programmes, said paramedics checked Vaga’s condition and took him to the emergency department for additional examinations.

“It is unfortunate that because of Kristo Enn Vaga’s health incident, the Reform Party was unable to defend itself against the opposition’s attacks on the programme,” Kala said.

“We are considering how the Reform Party can present its counterarguments,” he added.
