Trainer Enn Meiesaar told ERR’s Vikerraadio programme Huvitaja that shaking the body and sighing can help release tension, while regularly trying different types of exercise can provide new impulses.
Meiesaar, who has a background in dance, creates workouts that combine different dance styles. Participants do not always know which style they will practise before arriving, he said, adding that people who have preconceived ideas about certain styles are often pleased after trying them.
“Feeling rhythms is important. We are all very receptive to rhythms. Even the knee of someone who does not want to move will start moving to a good rhythm,” Meiesaar said. He advised people not to tell themselves that they cannot do something or will not succeed.
Meiesaar described shaking as an effective training method. “A two-year-old child and a 90-year-old person can shake themselves. My 97-year-old mother Meeta also does it,” he said. According to Meiesaar, shaking creates different vibrations and activates blood circulation. He also frequently uses sighing in his workouts, saying it helps release tension from the body because people often hold in their own energy.
Meiesaar said discipline and consistency were the keys to life, while effort was necessary for development. He also stressed the importance of carefully choosing music for workouts, as music can be highly stimulating, and encouraged people not to repeat the same training routine all the time.
