Estonia to see heavy showers and thunderstorms Thursday

ERR reports that Estonia will see heavy showers and increasingly gusty winds on Thursday, with thunderstorms possible in several areas. The heaviest rain should move east during the afternoon, but a new area of heavier rain will approach from the sea late in the evening.
Thursday night will bring partly cloudy skies. Scattered showers are expected around midnight, with heavier showers reaching the islands from the sea before moving onto the mainland. Thunderstorms and local fog are also possible. Southwest and west winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, shifting south after midnight, with gusts of up to 14 metres per second along the coast. Temperatures will range from 8 to 16 degrees Celsius.
Thursday morning will be partly cloudy, with showers in many places and the heaviest rain in western mainland Estonia. There is also a risk of thunderstorms. Southwest and west winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, with speeds of up to 15 metres per second around the Gulf of Riga. Temperatures will be between 13 and 17 degrees.
Rain will continue in many areas before noon and may be heavy in places, with thunderstorms possible. In the afternoon, the cloud cover and rain will become less widespread. Temperatures will reach 15 to 19 degrees, while southwest and west winds will reach 4 to 10 metres per second, with gusts of up to 16 metres per second.
Rain will reach the islands on Friday night and later spread to the mainland. During the day, heavier rain is expected in eastern Estonia, easing in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 8 to 14 degrees at night and from 14 to 19 degrees during the day.
Showers are also expected over the weekend, becoming less frequent by evening. Average overnight temperatures will fall from 11 to 9 degrees, while the daytime average will remain around 16 degrees. The wind will be moderate. The new week will begin with scattered showers, and daytime temperatures will rise to as high as 19 degrees.
