Antonio Costa to visit Lithuania for talks with Nausėda

European Council President Antonio Costa will visit Lithuania on Wednesday, LRT reported. President Gitanas Nausėda and Costa are expected to discuss key European Union agenda items.

The talks will cover European security and defence, support for Ukraine, EU enlargement, the bloc’s 2028 to 2034 multiannual financial framework and Lithuania’s presidency of the Council of the EU in 2027.

The two leaders are also scheduled to hold a joint press conference.

Lithuania will hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU during the first half of next year. Lithuanian officials have identified migration, EU enlargement, strengthening the bloc’s competitiveness and defence as priorities for the presidency.
