Estonia’s Chancellor of Justice Ülle Madise is meeting Riigikogu parliamentary factions on Monday after formally announcing her candidacy for president, ERR reports.

Madise met the Centre Party faction at 10 a.m. and was due to meet the Isamaa faction at midday. At 1:30 p.m., she was scheduled to hold a separate meeting with Reform Party MP Mart Võrklaev, who has not yet signed his party colleagues’ nomination in support of Madise.

Madise was due to meet the Social Democrats at 2 p.m., followed at 3 p.m. by a meeting with unaffiliated MPs and lawmakers who do not belong to political parties, known as the “window-seat” MPs.

Last week, MPs from the Reform Party, Estonia 200 and the Social Democrats collected 62 signatures supporting Madise’s nomination as a presidential candidate.
