Uusmus, a festival for young original music, will present six emerging Estonian acts at Fotografiska on October 10, ERR reported.

The festival will feature Lisanna Kuningas, performing alternative, indie and progressive pop; Error of Principle, performing rock; Lenar, performing indie, pop and rock; Anna and The Soul Hammers, performing soul and jazz; Humin, performing folk; and Ulmenthal, performing hypno-pop.

Each act will perform a 30-minute set during the festival evening. Organisers initially planned to select five artists, but expanded the programme after receiving a record 53 applications from artists and groups across Estonia.

Festival director Miina Martensoo said the high level of interest showed that young musicians need a platform to present their original work.

According to the organisers, Uusmus was created because young Estonian musicians often struggle to gain attention and build an audience. The festival aims to support professional-level artists who are still seeking listeners and whose music has not yet reached a wider public.

Martensoo said the festival was intended as a springboard for artists who had already developed their skills and identity but were ready to reach audiences with their music. Uusmus also aims to offer a quality festival experience at a price accessible to younger audiences.
