Isamaa maintains lead as Estonian party support remains stable

Estonian party support has remained stable in recent weeks, with Isamaa leading at 26 percent, ERR reported, citing a Norstat poll commissioned by the Institute of Social Research.

Isamaa leads the Centre Party by 3.9 percentage points, while the Estonian Conservative People’s Party is third, 7.8 points behind the Centre Party.

The Social Democratic Party has 14 percent support, followed by the Reform Party at 12.3 percent, Parempoolsed at 6.1 percent and Eesti 200 at 1.5 percent.

Coalition parties have a combined support of 13.8 percent, compared with 76.4 percent for parties in the parliamentary opposition.

Based on the current figures, Isamaa would win 29 seats in the Riigikogu, Estonia’s parliament. The Centre Party would take 25 seats, the Estonian Conservative People’s Party and Social Democratic Party 15 each, the Reform Party 12 and Parempoolsed five. Eesti 200 would remain clearly below the electoral threshold.

The latest aggregate results cover the polling period from July 6 to August 2 and are based on interviews with 4,000 Estonian citizens eligible to vote.
