Actor and singer Marko Matvere said parents often hope their children will have a better life than they did, but should let them choose their own path. He made the comments on ERR’s programme “Hommik Anuga”.
Matvere said he had shared his fairly rigid views with his children but had not imposed them. Each child, he said, is an individual who must find their own way. His children have not become musicians.
Singer Koit Toome said being a father had become more enjoyable over the years and that he had relished the role for the past decade. His older daughter is nearing the end of secondary school. Toome said he sometimes thinks about how lonely life would be without children.
Matvere, Toome and Kalle Sepp are going on a concert tour to perform songs by Frank Sinatra, accompanied by the Tallinn Police Orchestra big band under the direction of Siim Aimla. Matvere said Sinatra was regarded by some music critics and experts as one of the first pop musicians of the modern era, drawing large crowds of teenage girls.
