Eesti Pank releases 8,500 more Sipsik coin cards

Estonia’s central bank released 8,500 more commemorative two-euro coin cards featuring Sipsik at its museum shop on Tuesday, ERR reported.

A total of 1 million coins were minted in honour of Sipsik, a beloved character from Estonian children’s literature. Of these, 17,000 were packaged as souvenir coin cards.

The first 8,500 cards went on sale in June when the coins were issued and sold out quickly. The additional batch does not increase the total mintage of the coins.

Customers could buy up to two coin cards in a single purchase.

Estonia’s specially designed two-euro coins dedicated to Sipsik entered circulation in early June. They are legal tender throughout the euro area and are being distributed through retailers.
