Jānis Strazdiņš dies aged 84

LSM reported that narcologist, psychiatrist and politician Jānis Strazdiņš died on Sunday at the age of 84, according to a statement issued by his family on social media. He was born on September 29, 1941.
Strazdiņš served as a member of several convocations of the Saeima, Latvia’s parliament, and the Riga City Council.
His family described him as an outstanding doctor, psychiatrist and narcologist who devoted his life to people and Latvia.
