Police investigate alleged assault on two minors in Joniškis

Police are investigating an alleged assault on two minors in Joniškis, LRT reported, citing the Šiauliai County Chief Police Commissariat.

The incident took place at 5:50 p.m. on Saturday in the town’s City Square, a public place. Police said an intoxicated woman born in 1998 and an intoxicated man born in 1999 allegedly assaulted minors born in 2012 and 2010. Their blood alcohol levels were recorded at 1.68 and 1.96 per mille, respectively.

Medical staff examined the younger minor at the scene. The other minor was taken to hospital, examined and released for outpatient treatment.

A pretrial investigation has been opened into the infliction of physical pain or minor bodily harm.
