Lithuania’s meteorologists have delivered unwelcome news: summer heat is unlikely in the coming days, with rain expected across the country and temperatures hovering around 20°C, LRT reports.

Paulius Starkus, a forecaster at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT), told LRT Radio that the morning of July 6 began with widespread rain and overcast skies across much of the country. While some regions may see brief sunny spells, showers—occasionally with thunder—are expected in many areas on Monday.

Winds will be westerly at 8–13 m/s, with gusts reaching 15–17 m/s in places. Temperatures will range from 17°C to 22°C.

On Tuesday, scattered showers will persist, with southwesterly winds of 7–12 m/s and coastal gusts up to 16 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 10–15°C, while daytime highs will reach 16–21°C.

Wednesday will bring more widespread rain, at times heavy, with southerly and southwesterly winds shifting to northwesterly by day. Wind speeds will increase to 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s inland and up to 23 m/s along the coast. Temperatures will remain between 10–15°C at night and 15–20°C during the day.
