Summer-like weekend and start of next week forecast for Lithuania
Lithuania will experience summer-like temperatures this weekend and into the start of next week, according to the country’s Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT).
The shift follows a change in weather patterns as a windy cyclone moves away, allowing the country to fall under a zone of relatively high pressure, the service reported on Thursday.
On Friday night, skies will be partly cloudy, with clearer conditions in western regions. Rain is unlikely across most of the country, though light showers may linger in parts of Aukštaitija. Winds will ease, with overnight lows dropping to 3–8°C. Ground frost of 0–2°C is possible in Žemaitija.
Saturday will remain partly cloudy with little chance of rain. Winds will shift direction at 5–10 m/s, while daytime highs will reach 16–21°C, climbing slightly higher in the southwest.
A weak, low-activity cyclone will approach from the west on Sunday, increasing cloud cover and bringing scattered showers, some accompanied by thunder. Winds will stay variable at 5–10 m/s. Overnight temperatures will hold at 5–10°C, with no frost expected. Daytime highs will range from 15–20°C, peaking at 23°C in some areas.
The first official day of summer, Monday, will bring genuinely warm conditions despite brief, light rain—mostly overnight and in western regions later in the day. Winds will remain variable at 4–9 m/s. Lows will stay mild at 6–11°C, while highs will reach 19–24°C, though coastal areas will stay cooler at 15–18°C due to sea breezes.
Forecasters predict the western edge of a small anticyclone will dominate Lithuania’s weather into midweek, bringing drier, calmer nights and warm days. While afternoon showers remain possible, temperatures will stay summer-like.
