Three Plungė residents charged with cocaine distribution after hiding drugs in stairwells
Prosecutors in Lithuania have referred a criminal case to Klaipėda Regional Court involving three Plungė residents accused of illegally possessing and distributing cocaine, state broadcaster LRT reports.
The investigation, led by the Klaipėda District Prosecutor’s Office and Plungė District Police, alleges that two women, aged 32 and 36, operated as a group between June and October 2025, concealing cocaine in residential stairwells and public spaces before selling it. A 39-year-old man is accused of assisting by relocating a large quantity of the drug.
One of the women allegedly acquired and stored the cocaine, while the other handled sales, receiving payment in cash and small gifts. One suspect had prior convictions for serious drug-related offences and is accused of committing the new crimes while serving a non-custodial sentence.
During the pre-trial investigation, one suspect was detained under the strictest preventive measure—arrest—but this was later replaced by intensive supervision after the case was transferred to court. All three face potential prison sentences of two to eight years.
The case involves 12 separate drug-related offences. Charges against buyers have been split into separate proceedings, with some already resulting in convictions. The trial will be heard by the Plungė division of Klaipėda Regional Court.
