Light rain to move across Estonia on Wednesday
Light rain is expected to spread across Estonia from the northwest on Wednesday as clouds thicken, ERR reports. Temperatures will reach 4 to 10 degrees Celsius.
Overnight, a low-pressure trough will move southeast across the country, bringing rain in places and windy conditions. After midnight, the eastern edge of a high-pressure system to the west will become more influential, bringing clearer skies, less chance of rain and lighter winds.
The night will be mostly clear or partly cloudy, with fog possible in some places. Rain is possible early in the night. Northwesterly and northerly winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, with coastal gusts up to 15 metres per second, before gradually easing after midnight. Temperatures will range from minus 2 to plus 3 degrees, and reach up to 7 degrees on the coast.
Wednesday morning will be mostly clear or partly cloudy and dry, though cloudier in northwestern Estonia. Winds will be light from the northwest and north, with occasional moderate gusts on the coast. Temperatures will be minus 1 to plus 3 degrees, and up to 8 degrees on the coast.
Clouds will build during the day as a new low-pressure trough arrives from the north, bringing light rain that will move from northwestern Estonia southeastwards. Westerly winds will reach 2 to 8 metres per second, rising to 5 to 10 metres per second on the coast in the afternoon, with gusts up to 15 metres per second.
Thursday will be partly cloudy. Light rain is possible in places in eastern Estonia during the day, with sleet possibly mixing in by evening. Precipitation is expected to continue there overnight into Friday. Friday will be variable in cloud and dry nationwide. Temperatures will average 8 degrees on Thursday and 5 degrees on Friday.
Average temperatures are expected to rise to 7 degrees over the weekend. Clouds will increase, with occasional light rain on both Saturday and Sunday.
