Sweden’s central bank will announce the recipient of the economics prize in memory of Alfred Nobel at 12:30 on Monday, ERR reports. Novaator will carry a live broadcast of the press conference.
Last year’s prize was shared by US economist Joel Mokyr, French economist Philippe Aghion and American economist Peter Howitt. They described how technological innovation and creative destruction drive economic growth.
The economics prize has been awarded since 1968. From 2026, it is worth 12 million Swedish kronor, or about 1.06 million euros. Laureates also receive a gold medal bearing a relief of Nobel, a diploma and a medal inscription honouring Alfred Nobel in the name of Sveriges Riksbank.
