Latvian schools hold mock elections ahead of parliamentary vote
Mock elections are taking place in Latvian educational institutions until September 28, with students counting the ballots themselves, LSM reports. The results will be announced on October 3 after polling stations for the 15th Saeima election close.
The mock election results will not affect the outcome of the actual parliamentary election.
In a programme titled “What is really happening?”, LSM.lv and Pieci.lv explain how the mock elections are organised for young people who are not yet 18.
Latvia’s 15th Saeima election will be held on October 3. Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters will be able to cast their ballots at any polling station.
