Police say Panevezys TAMO platform was breached and school threat sent

LRT reported that an electronic learning platform in Panevezys was breached and messages, including a threat to blow up a school, were sent to 83 recipients, all teachers.

The Police Department said it received the report at about 6:24 p.m. on Friday. The breach was believed to have occurred roughly half an hour earlier.

Police patrols went to the school and inspected its premises with school employees. No suspicious items were found. The emergency security plan known as Skydas was not activated, and firefighters and medics were not called.

Police Department representative Ramunas Matonis told ELTA on Saturday that officers had checked the premises together with school staff. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

The incident follows threats received by state institutions earlier this week to blow up six schools in Vilnius. Police contacted the schools and sent patrols, but found no real threat. Classes continued at all the schools except one gymnasium, which evacuated students by its own decision.

According to law enforcement, the emails threatening to blow up the schools referred to a religious theme. Similar threats were also reported in other Baltic countries.

Authorities received hundreds of reports about possible explosives at educational institutions on June 1, when the final examination session began.
