Köler Prize laureate Anna Mari Liivrand opens Tartu solo exhibition

Anna Mari Liivrand, a recent Köler Prize laureate, has opened a solo exhibition at Kogo Gallery in Tartu. ERR reported that “The Allure of Winding Paths” explores complex relationships with memory, nature and the past.

Liivrand works across drawing, sculpture and installation. Each installation created for the exhibition functions as a separate chapter in a broader narrative, while contributing to the artist’s developing visual vocabulary of curved forms, material memory and transformation.

Liivrand lives and works in Tallinn. She earned a master’s degree in contemporary art from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2022 and a bachelor’s degree in installation and sculpture in 2016.

She is a 2026 Köler Prize laureate alongside Hanna Samoson and received an art scholarship established by the Centre for Contemporary Art, Estonia, and Kaamos Group in 2025. Last year, she opened a solo exhibition titled “On the Edge of Fading Voltage” at the Bærum Art Centre in Norway.

The exhibition was curated by Riga-based curator and gallerist Elīna Drāke, who has curated and produced more than 30 exhibitions. Drāke co-founded ASNI, an independent gallery in Riga focused on diverse, fresh and experimental Baltic contemporary art. She currently serves as artistic director of Riga Art Week and is also a co-founder of the Latvian Galleries Association.

“The Allure of Winding Paths” will remain open at Kogo Gallery until October 24.
