Estonia, forecast, weather

Estonia will have mostly sunny weather on Thursday, with temperatures reaching 11C and northwesterly wind gusts of up to 18 metres per second, ERR reports.

Cloudier weather and heavier showers are expected around the edges of Europe, while a high-pressure system centred over the Shetland Islands extends toward the Swedish coast. A low-pressure system’s outer edge will reach the Baltic states from Russia. No significant precipitation is expected, but the opposing pressure systems will strengthen the northwesterly wind.

Skies will clear from the northwest overnight. Eastern Estonia will remain cloudier, with a little rain in some places early in the night. Temperatures will be 3C to 7C, rising to 10C on the coast. Winds will blow from the west and northwest at 4 to 9 metres per second, reaching 11 metres per second on the coast, with gusts up to 18.

On Thursday morning, western Estonia will have clearer skies. There will be more cloud in the east, but no rain is expected. Temperatures will range from 3C to 7C, and reach 10C on the coast.

Clouds will be sparse during the day, with no rain expected. Showers will reach Virumaa in the evening. Temperatures will be 6C to 11C, with northwesterly winds reaching 18 metres per second on the coast.

Overnight into Friday, showers are expected in easternmost Estonia, with sleet possible. Little precipitation is forecast elsewhere, though light rain may fall in a few places. Overnight temperatures will be close to 0C, falling below freezing only on the night into Saturday. Daytime temperatures will remain below 10C.
