Latvian Television unveils diverse programming for 73rd season

Latvian Television will offer new domestic series, documentaries and entertainment programmes in its 73rd season, while returning popular shows and broadcasting major cultural, social and sporting events, LSM reports.
The broadcaster will continue to provide news and independent, fact-based analysis of key developments in Latvia and around the world. The investigative journalism programme “Aizliegtais paņēmiens” has already returned, while “Viens pret vienu” will analyse political and social developments on Tuesday evenings.
“Šodienas jautājums” will address the day’s most important questions. On Wednesdays, viewers will be able to follow foreign policy developments on “Pasaules panorāma” and discussions on issues important to society on “Kas notiek Latvijā?”. “Aculiecinieks” will report on notable events and people on Saturdays, while the investigative programme “De facto” will examine socially significant topics on Sundays.
The new season will also include the Latvijas Radio 1 programme “Krustpunktā” and the new programme “Brīvības bulvāris”, which will continue to promote substantive discussions about important events, ideas and values in Latvian society. The programme will bring prominent figures and experts from different fields together in the studio.
Several popular programmes will return soon. “Latvijas Sirdsdziesma” will begin its 10th anniversary season on August 29, followed by the quiz show “V.I.P. – Veiksme. Intuīcija. Prāts” on August 31. “Provinces” will return on September 1.
Religious services will resume on Sundays from September 6, while “Lielās patiesības” will return on September 27. The quiz show “Gudrs, vēl gudrāks” will begin its new season on October 2, followed by “Daudz laimes, jubilār!” on October 9.
LTV will also continue its extensive coverage of Latvia’s cultural life. “Kultūras ziņas” will report daily on current events, while “Kultūrdeva”, “Kultūršoks”, “Ielas garumā” and other popular programmes will return to the schedule.
