Tallinn Chamber Orchestra to perform three Bach concertos with Tähe-Lee Liiv

The Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and pianist Tähe-Lee Liiv will perform three Bach keyboard concertos at the Estonia Concert Hall on September 23, ERR reported.

The concert will also feature young composer Anna Pärt, who has written a new work commissioned by the orchestra, and 19-year-old conductor Joel Kaspar Nõgene, who will lead its premiere.

The programme includes Bach’s Concerto in D major, BWV 1054, Concerto in D minor, BWV 1052, and Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056.

Titled “Mostly Bach”, the concert continues Liiv’s piano series, which began with “Mostly Mozart” in late 2025 and “Mostly Mendelssohn” in the first half of 2026.

During the 2024 to 2025 season, Liiv was selected for “Building Bridges”, a series introducing young pianists curated by Sir András Schiff. She performed at several major European concert halls, including the Konzerthaus Berlin, Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, Flagey in Brussels and Beethoven House in Bonn.

In November 2023, she released her debut album, featuring Arvo Pärt’s complete piano works, in cooperation with Estonian Records Productions. In 2020, she won the “Classical Stars” competition.

Liiv studied at the Tallinn Music High School, the youth department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and the youth department of the Sibelius Academy. She is a scholarship holder at the Royal College of Music in London and has studied with Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann, Ivari Ilja, Hui-Ying Tawaststjerna, Dmitri Alexeev and Konstantin Bogino. Since 2022, she has studied in Berlin at the Barenboim-Said Academy under Sir András Schiff.
