The Road Traffic Safety Directorate, or CSDD, has appointed an interim supervisory board following a recent cyberattack that led to the resignation of the company’s entire management, LSM reported, citing the Ministry of Transport.
At an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on Thursday, the board elected Ģirts Ozols, chairman of the management board at the Latvian State Radio and Television Centre, as its chairman. The other members are Līga Ermane, a member of the supervisory board at the state postal company Latvijas Pasts, and Ivars Saliņš, who previously headed the Strategic Planning and Administrative Support Department at the state air traffic company Latvijas Gaisa satiksme.
The interim board was appointed to ensure continuity of CSDD’s management and operational stability after both the company’s supervisory board and management board resigned because of the cyberattack.
Ozols has more than 25 years of management experience in telecommunications, information and communications technology, electric mobility and business development. He has held senior positions at the Latvian State Radio and Television Centre and in Latvia’s telecommunications sector over the past decade. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and has completed corporate governance programmes at the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance.
Ermane has extensive experience in financial management, corporate governance and strategic financial development. She has held senior positions in the finance, real estate management, aviation, postal and healthcare sectors in both state-owned and private companies. She holds master’s degrees in financial management from the Banking University and in business administration from the University of Latvia.
Saliņš has extensive management experience in transport and strategic governance. At Latvijas Gaisa satiksme, he headed the Strategic Planning and Administrative Support Department and gained experience in business development planning, governance and investment project implementation.
