Riigikogu and 20 August Club to hold anniversary sitting

ERR will broadcast a joint sitting of Estonia’s parliament, the Riigikogu, and the 20 August Club at noon, as Estonia marks the 35th anniversary of the restoration of independence.

The sitting will be attended by members of the 20 August Club and will include addresses by Riigikogu Speaker Lauri Hussar, President Alar Karis and 20 August Club President Ants Veetõusme.

Greetings will be delivered by Icelandic President Halla Tómasdóttir, Latvian Saeima Speaker Daiga Mieriņa, Andris Teikmanis of Latvia’s 4 May Declaration Club, Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas and Birute Valionyte, president of Lithuania’s Signatories’ Club.

The Huik mixed choir will perform during the sitting. ERR’s live broadcast will begin at noon.
