Man dies after being pulled from Šešupė River in Kalvarija

A man pulled from the Šešupė River and resuscitated by emergency services died on Friday afternoon in Kalvarija, LRT reported.
According to the Kaunas Fire and Rescue Board, authorities were notified at around 4 p.m. that a man was drowning in the river. When emergency crews arrived, bystanders had already pulled him from the water.
Police officers and firefighters began resuscitation efforts before paramedics took over.
Marijampolė County Police said the man, born in 1982, was pronounced dead. No external signs of violence were found on his body, and a pre-trial investigation has been opened to establish the cause of death.
