Firefighters called out 27 times to remove fallen trees

Firefighters responded 27 times in the past day to remove trees that had fallen onto roads and other areas, according to a report by the Fire and Rescue Department cited by BNS.

Most incidents were reported in the Utena, Alytus, and Vilnius regions. A duty officer confirmed to BNS on Thursday morning that no injuries had been reported.

A brief heatwave in Lithuania was followed by a severe storm on Wednesday evening, bringing thunder, heavy rain, and strong winds across much of the country.
