Body of woman found in Neris River in Vilnius

Emergency services recovered the body of a woman from the Neris River in central Vilnius on Monday morning, reports LRT.
A passerby reported a floating body near the White Bridge at around 10:30 AM, according to police spokesperson Loreta Kairienė. Firefighters, medics, and police responded to the scene and retrieved the body from the water.
The victim, believed to be around 25 years old, showed no visible signs of external violence. Authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation to determine the cause of death. The woman’s identity has not yet been established.
The body was spotted near the White Bridge and recovered a few hundred metres downstream. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
