Lithuania receives anti-tank mines worth over €3 million

Lithuania has taken delivery of M14 anti-tank mines produced by Estonian company Eesti Arsenal, the country’s Ministry of National Defence announced on Sunday. The contract is valued at approximately €3 million.

The mines, designed to destroy or disable enemy armoured vehicles—including tanks and infantry fighting vehicles—from the side, will be used to block roads, forest paths, and other narrow passages. This tactic aims to slow enemy movements, restrict manoeuvrability, and disrupt offensive operations.

Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas said in a statement: “By stockpiling sufficient ammunition reserves—from air defence missiles to anti-tank mines—we are sending a clear message: through consistent actions, we are strengthening our armed forces and the security of the entire region.”

The ministry confirmed the mines have already been delivered to Lithuanian military storage facilities.
