Three men charged with possessing nearly 21 kilograms of cocaine
Kauno Regional Prosecutor’s Office has referred a criminal case to court in which three men are accused of the unlawful possession of a very large quantity of narcotic substances as part of an organised group, LRT reports.
According to the prosecution, the defendants, acting as an organised group, unlawfully acquired a large quantity of drugs from unidentified individuals in December 2025. One of the accused transported 21 packages containing nearly 21 kilograms of cocaine to an apartment in Marijampolė by car.
In January 2026, one of the men allegedly used tools to open a hidden compartment in the vehicle to remove the drugs from the apartment. Meanwhile, the other two went inside to collect the packages. As they were loading the cocaine into a bag, they were detained, and the 21 packages were seized by officers of the Customs Criminal Service.
Under the Criminal Code, unlawful possession of a very large quantity of narcotic substances carries a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years. The case has been forwarded to Kauno Regional Court for consideration.
