Jonava implements lockdown plan as police search for armed man

Jonava has activated its emergency lockdown plan as police search for a man who fired shots and fled before officers arrived, LRT.lt reports.

The incident began on June 13 at 21:51, when police received a report of a possibly intoxicated relative attempting to break into an apartment on P. Vaičiūno Street. Upon arrival, the man fired multiple shots and escaped.

Preliminary information indicates no injuries to officers or residents. The suspect, born in 1980, is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities have deployed a large police force to locate him.

Residents who spot the man are urged to call emergency services at 112 immediately. The lockdown plan remains in effect.
