The Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LVŽS) would be surprised if coalition talks led to changes in its ministerial appointments, party member Aušrinė Norkienė said Monday, as reported by ELTA and LRT.

Speaking after an LVŽS board meeting, Norkienė stated that the party’s delegated ministers are performing well and that there is no reason to replace them. “We believe our ministers are doing a good job, and there is no need to change them,” she said. “We expect the ministers we appointed to remain in their posts. We would be somewhat surprised if, while negotiating the coalition, we also had to renegotiate the ministerial positions.”

She added that discussions may be needed on policy matters but suggested that ministerial posts are unlikely to be reopened for debate. “I think we won’t go that far on the ministerial issue unless someone has very critical objections,” Norkienė said.

Her comments follow speculation about potential changes in Lithuania’s ruling coalition, with the Social Democrats reconsidering their partnership with the “Nemuno aušra” political group.
