Lithuania to see summer-like warmth before cooler change arrives
Lithuania will enjoy near-summer temperatures over the coming days before a shift to cooler, windier weather midweek, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service reports.
According to forecaster Simona Dalinkevičiūtė, Sunday will bring pleasant conditions resembling a Lithuanian summer, with highs of 20–25°C in most regions. Western coastal areas will remain slightly cooler at 15–19°C. Skies will be partly cloudy, with stronger westerly to northwesterly winds. Brief showers may develop in the east later in the day.
Monday will stay warm, with overnight lows of 6–11°C and daytime highs of 19–24°C, dropping to 13–18°C near the Baltic coast. While the night remains dry, scattered light showers are possible in the northeast during the afternoon. Winds will strengthen, with gusts reaching 15–17 m/s in exposed areas.
A noticeable cooldown arrives Tuesday, with temperatures falling to 15–20°C inland and 12–14°C along the coast. Nighttime lows will range from 8–13°C. Showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast, accompanied by strong westerly winds gusting up to 18 m/s in places.
Midweek will see further cooling, with Wednesday and Thursday highs of just 11–16°C and overnight lows between 5–12°C. Rain is likely, particularly on Wednesday, when thunderstorms may occur. Winds remain strong, with gusts of 15–20 m/s possible during the day.
Conditions are expected to improve slightly by Friday, with temperatures gradually rising to 13–18°C and reaching up to 20°C in some areas over the weekend. Rain will ease, though scattered showers may persist in places.
