Lithuania reports no illegal migrant crossings from Belarus for 15th consecutive day
Lithuania has recorded no illegal migrant crossings from Belarus for the 15th day in a row, the State Border Guard Service announced on Saturday, as reported by the BNS news agency.
Latvian border guards turned away 167 migrants on Friday, while Polish authorities reported no attempts on Thursday. Lithuania last returned seven migrants on May 7.
This year, Lithuania has denied entry to 724 irregular migrants. In 2025, over 1,600 attempts were made to cross into the country from Belarus at unauthorised points, compared to 1,002 in 2024.
Since the start of the Belarus-orchestrated migration crisis in 2021, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25,000 foreigners from entering the country illegally. The influx of migrants into eastern EU states via Belarus began that year, with Western officials accusing Minsk of organising the flows.
