The presidents of Lithuania and Poland will meet on Wednesday in Lithuania’s Kalvarija district to observe joint military drills and discuss strengthening regional security, the Lithuanian presidency announced on Tuesday.

President Gitanas Nausėda will host Polish leader Karol Nawrocki in Akmenynai village, where they will attend the Narsus Grifonas 26-II tactical exercises involving Lithuanian and Polish troops, according to the presidential office.

The exercises focus on rapid, coordinated responses to potential threats in the so-called Suwałki Corridor—a strategically sensitive area along the Lithuanian-Polish border. The leaders are also expected to address defense cooperation, military and political support for Ukraine, and priorities for the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara.

The meeting coincides with the 235th anniversary of the May 3 Constitution of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a historic milestone for both nations.
