Lithuanian firefighters were called out 50 times across the country over the past 24 hours to clear damage caused by strong winds, state news agency ELTA reported Tuesday.

Most emergencies were recorded in western Lithuania, particularly in Tauragė and Klaipėda districts, according to Dainius Vedrickas, senior specialist at the Fire Protection and Rescue Department’s Situation Coordination Division.

Fallen trees blocked roads in multiple locations, while some collapsed onto high-voltage power lines. In Druskininkai, a tree crushed a parked car. Fire crews also secured loose advertising billboards and construction site tarps torn by the wind.

No injuries were reported in the incidents, authorities confirmed.

Meteorologists forecast continued gusty northwest winds of 15–20 m/s on Tuesday, with rain showers across much of the country. Temperatures will reach 4–9°C. Strong winds and scattered precipitation are expected to persist into Wednesday, with gusts up to 16 m/s in some regions.
