Man drowns in Lake Luka in Trakai
A man has drowned in Lake Luka in the Trakai district, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reported on Thursday.
Emergency services received a report at 15:23 local time about a body spotted in the water, possibly a swimmer. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and confirmed the presence of a floating body approximately four metres from the shore. The man was pulled from the water at 15:39.
Julija Samorokovskaja, a representative of the Vilnius County Police, told LRT the victim was a 54-year-old man born in 1970. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation to determine the cause of death.
