Colonel Toomas Tõniste and Liis Mure, a senior researcher at the International Centre for Defence and Security, will discuss the war in Ukraine and US policy on ERR’s Ukraine Studio at 20:00 on Sunday.
Tõniste will review developments on the front line, where Russian losses have exceeded the number of new fighters the country can recruit for several months. The programme will also discuss a Russian glide-bomb attack on a school in the village of Komyshuvakha, in Zaporizhzhia region, where civilians had gathered to await humanitarian aid. ERR described the attack as another Russian war crime.
Mure will comment on how President Donald Trump’s major defeat in the US midterm elections could affect his policy toward Ukraine and Russia. The programme will also examine whether a breakthrough in efforts to end the war is possible, as Trump hinted on Thursday night. Epp Ehand will host the programme.
